The Fall of Berlin was caused by the Battle of Berlin which was the Soviet Union attacking Germany. Berlin ended up surrendering which led to the fall. Before Berlin's defeat, Adolf Hitler - the Nazi Germany ruler, committed suicide in his underground bunker. This was extremely significant as it was a very large realization point for the Nazi soldiers that they wouldn't be able to prevail without their ruler.
