Write down one example of STEM project ?

Objective: To design and build a prototype of a car using only paper, scissors, and glue within a 40-minute time limit.

Materials

• Construction paper or cardstock

• Scissors

• Glue sticks or tape

• A flat surface for testing (desk or floor)

Activity Timeline (40 minutes)

Part 1: Getting Started (5 minutes)

• What to do: Read through the rules and the timeline together. Make sure everyone knows you have just 40 minutes from start to finish.

Part 2: Planning Your Design (5 minutes)

• What to do:

  • Talk about different ideas for the car's body and wheels. How can you make it strong? what kind of cars that you will build ?

  • Sketch your design on a piece of scrap paper. It doesn't have to be perfect, just a simple plan.

  • Assign roles to each person in your group, like "The Cutter," "The Gluer," and "The Designer."

Part 3: Building Your Car (20 minutes)

• What to do:

  • Try to fold the papers to build the body - front - back of the car and stick it together.

  • stick all the parts with glue or tape.

Part 3: Testing and Evaluation (5 minutes)

• What to do:

  • write the steps of how you build the car.

  • The difficulties that you faced.

  • The benefits that you gain from this activity.
