My supervisor is Professor Hasford is a current professor at Ryerson University. My internship involved me working with the BCAN network in the fall term to assist in a research project that was being conducted within the peel district. It focused on building a reintegration plan for black youth exiting the justice system. I assisted with many literature summarizations and completed various matrix charts in order to provide a strong literature review for the final project. My day-to-day roles included connecting with research assistants from other Universities and helping gather statistics and information on limitations that black youth face. The internship has also allowed me to focus on multiple research methods and funding proposals that will be utilized within my professional career. I was also involved in summarizing different programs specifically linked to racialized youth within the GTA area. This allowed me to compare what programs were most successful and why. Overall my internship consisted of many research-based projects and various meetings with individuals from the GTA.
