Neo, in the ordinary world, is a computer hacker at night and sells fake ids during the day time. The city that this takes place in isn’t necessarily specified, but it is a city similar to Chicago.

Call to adventure

The call to adventure is when his computer gets hacked by a higher up (trinity) and he follows the white rabbit to the club.

Meeting the mentor

At work the next day while in his cubicle, he gets a package delivered containing a phone. When it rang he answered and on the other line was Morpheus. He tells Neo that he is in danger and someone is coming for him just as police officers are coming after him in the office. Morpheus tells him while still on the phone what to do in every single step.

Crossing the threshold

Afterwards Neo is directed to Morpheus, who gives him a choice between the truth or ignorance. In which Neo chooses the truth. Morpheus gives him a pill and he takes it just to wake up in the real world or “the matrix”

Trials and failures

Morpheus takes Neo into a room to learn his powers that he has always had but just wasn’t aware of. To learn his powers they “fight”. Neo isn’t able to learn what Morpheus is trying to teach him at first and keeps failing

GROWTH AND NEW SKILLS

Neo figures out his powers as him and trinity are running from the detectives that were shown in the beginning of the movie. Neo is able to jump from building to building and all sorts of other things he didn’t know he was previously able to do.

The supreme ordeal

When the group is “ambushed” by the detectives in the first part. Morpheus, who is esentially the leader of trinity and Neo, sacrifices himself for the rest of the crew. The detectives took him and held him hostage while being interrogated.

The reward

The group saves Morpheus then Neo and trinity are able to finally escape the matrix. Neo wonders afterwards if he truly is “the one”.

Atonement

Neo realizes and accepts that his role is to help save Zion and free many other minds from the matrix. Now his strength is wild as he completely fed his mind to tell him that everything is as he thinks it is.

Return
