The salamander lesson provided me with inspiration for the lesson, but I had found several gaps within it that I felt needed to be changed as I created my own lesson. The lesson was created for ages 8-14, but the standards only address grades k-2. I had found standards to use from CPALMs to base my lesson around, so that the lesson effectively meets the 3rd grade Florida standards. There also wasn't a solid explore section within the plan, so I had added this in by allowing students to do their own research about wildlife crossing and Florida panthers.

Florida Panthers: Struggle for Survival by William Caper wasn't as engaging as I would have liked it to be. I struggled to find a good resource to use as a hook (either a book or video) that was engaging/interesting for students and specific to Florida panthers. I would like to look at a library or book store to see if I could find anything to supplement this book with in the future.

The letter will thank them for doing such a great job, but explain that their has been an issue with the designs. The construction of their wildlife crossings has lead to habitat loss surrounding their creations, so the panthers will not use it. They will receive an updated budget in which they must restore the surrounding habitat that keeps panthers hidden in their natural environments throughout the entire time they cross.
