This provides a "fast and safe approach for patient populations from premature neonates to hypercapnic COPD patients" to receive positive pressure ventilation in a non-invasive way  (Vapotherm 2018). Although Vapotherm has been around since 2008 their latest release includes an updated software. The precision flow nasal cannula (instead of a face mask) is used to "deliver warm, humidified gas at high velocity to the patient" (Medgadget 2019). Vapotherm can provide up to 40L/min to patients and the FIO2 can be adjusted as well.
