In the movie, "About Time" the main character Tim has the ability to time travel backwards. He can go back and redo moments of his life until they are perfect. After watching the "About Time" trailer, what would you do if you had his same ability to time travel? Would you focus on love and family like Tim did? With the decisions you make, how do you think your life when you 'flash back' to present time would be changed? Would you want to have the responsibility of time travel or would you like to go through life normally?

I don't think I really need to spell out what I would do with this kind of power. If I could do what this Tim guy can do, I would use it all the time for the most trivial and inane mistakes.

If I had the ability to time travel, I would focus more on bettering myself. I would take my experiences that I have already been through and apply my current knowledge to my past decisions. I hope that they would change my present for the better. I hope that my current mindset and outlook on myself would be better. However, I like living my life normally and not having the pressure of time travel.

If I had the ability to time travel, I probably would not because that would stress me out. I think I would just like to go through life normally and face things head on instead of going back to change my mistakes. If I did time travel, I would probably try and focus on love and family like Tim did. Family is the most important thing in life, so that would be my main focus. Overall, I would not want this responsibility to go back in time because that is too big of a decision that I do not want to make.

I think that the ability to time travel is too big of a responsibility, and there are definitely many consequences to it. You could literally change the course of history by going back in time and doing something different than you did before. Although, I could use this power to save lives, which would be really cool.

Also, as much as I would want to erase the mistakes I've made, I think I've learned from them and I wouldn't be the same person I am today without them. I think I would get too caught up in trying to make everything perfect which would not end well. However, I might go back just to relive happy moments over again.

That being said, I could use it for many things if I was careless of the consequences. Obviously, I could gain wealth with it or I could just relive the little things. Sleep would be my number one reason to use it, however, in the end, I like to think I would use it as Tim does in the end.

I don't think I would want this responsibility. It would be a really tall order and I would probably mess something up. While I often wish I could re-do moments of my life, or things that I say, we have to learn from those mistakes and learn not to repeat them. I wonder if you go through life with the ability to back up and re-do things if you appreciate the little things as much. If you are always worried about fixing things do you appreciate the good things that come from making mistakes?

I think having the ability to travel back in time would make me more likely to take risks, because I would be able to go back and fix things if it didn't work out. This could be a positive thing, but it would more likely cause me to become careless in my actions, so I think time travel would be a dangerous power to have. Often times I wish I had the ability to go back just a few minutes or a few hours to correct something I said or did wrong, but I do not think it would be worth it in the end, because that's not how life is supposed to work.

Thanks for sharing this, Lily. What an interesting topic to consider. I think I would love to go back and relive some amazing moments in my life, like running my first marathon, getting married, seeing my kids walk for the first time, moments that have meant a lot to me. I don't think there is anything in particular I would like to change though, mostly because I would be too worried about alter the future. It is a huge responsibility as it could effect not just my life but those I know and love.

If I had the ability to time travel, I would relive some of the best moments that I've had so far. My life in the present would forever be changed and probably for the better, but I would only want it for important things. Life is about making mistakes and not being perfect, so I wouldn't want to travel in time to change those. I would travel in time to experience the good days and nights, and the most memorable moments that have happened to me. I think living normally is the only way to grow and learn as a person, however if I could time travel I would definitely make the most out of some situations that I didn't take advantage of. Especially as we're growing up, there are some times I wish I could go back to just to feel what it's like to just live again.

If I had the ability to time travel I do not think that I would use it. While it would be very difficult knowing I could redo a past mistake, everything in the world happens for a reason. If I were to go back and attempt to redo something, this could change the entire meaning of my life, which I would not want to do. This being said, if I was given the responsibility to time travel for a specific cause, I may do it as long as it does not have any negative outcomes for the future.
