         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Native American mythology tells of great tales of how the tribes and their cultures were created.&nbsp;</li><li>Although some can seem bizarre to outsiders, they have a great impact on Native Americans beliefs.&nbsp;</li><li>These stories tell of great heroes, spirits, and warriors who helped mold the tribes way of life.&nbsp;</li><li>There are myths pertaining to how Native American tribes were brought from underground, pg. 10, and divided to create the different tribes across America as well as their own individual languages.</li><li>One legend of "The Dueling Brothers", pg. 6,&nbsp; tells how twin sons were born to the daughter of the Great Chief's wife. Tsentsa, the older, good twin, helped shape the earth by&nbsp; bringing trees, flowers, and animals. The younger twin, Taweskare, was evil and tried to undo his brother's good works. He was known to create volcanoes and cause trembling in the earth due to his anger. &nbsp;</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Myths help teach about values, life lessons, honesty and above all courage.&nbsp;</li><li>Native Americans can be found in the plains, the desert, the arctic, the woodlands, and mountains. They are divided into 10 different cultural areas. pg. 8</li><li>There are at least 240 different tribes with over 500 different languages. pg 12</li><li>Seqouya, who was a Cherokee scholar and merchant, created the first Native American alphabet which was completed in 1821.</li><li>Coyotes play a major part in the history of Native American myths and stories.&nbsp;</li><li>Native Americans celebrate life and death, marriages, a good hunt or victories in battle during rituals.&nbsp;</li><li>Shamans, known as both medicine men and spiritual leaders, help link the Native Americans with spirits of the world.&nbsp;</li><li>Native Americans were very resourceful. They used their "kill" not only for food but to make weapons, to create clothing, and make shelters. </li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>The tale of Sedna, goddess of the sea, involves a vain girl who never thought guys were good enough for her.&nbsp;</li><li>Sedna was very beautiful and all of the men in her village wanted to marry her.&nbsp;</li><li>Sedna rejected every guy who requested to marry her.</li><li>Eventually, a man who was more handsome than anyone in her tribe arrived. He was the perfect man for her and she could not resist his hand in marriage. The man eventually revealed his true form of a bird spirit and trapped her in his home. </li></ul>]]></description>
