OK now you'll get another strange insight into my family. This is a Gibbs family fav. Putanesca is Whore's Pasta. Yep. Whore's. That's because the "Ladies of the night" - in Italy of course - supposedly let this puppy just sit on the stove while they saw "customers". And well, that makes it easy enough for even me to get it right!

OK - that lovely background story behind us... here's the recipe.

Take some oil in a pan, saute a bunch of crushed garlic. Squeeze in a tube of anchovy paste. Saute more. Then toss in a large can (28 oz) of crushed tomatoes, a small can of chopped black olives, half a jar of capers. Simmer it while you drink a couple of bottles of wine. Eventually cook some pasta. Then serve this sauce with lots and lots of parmesan. Maybe some chili pepper flakes and black pepper.

YUM!

PS fantastic when car camping.
