My name is Stephen Baker, I am a junior in high school, and I plan to get a degree in welding engineering after I graduate. I am currently taking practical welding classes at Greenville technical college. These classes will help me when communicating with practical welders once in a welding engineer position. Currently I work on a farm doing anything and everything that needs to be done. This job had taught me problem solving, good work ethic, and much more. The skills I have learned from my current job will transfer to engineering helping me accelerate in my career path. My passion for the trade I will be working with and my problem solving skills will allow me to make a positive impact in the welding engineering field.

Assignment 1: Cover letter - This assignment involved researching jobs we are interested in and write a cover letter to help us prepare for future job searches.

Assignment 2: Poetry/Song Project - This assignment involved researching songs and poems that relate to a problem in the world today, teaching us basic skills.

Module 2- Analysis

Assignment 1: Essay One - The first essay involved the writer arguing about their own take from "Find More Ways to be An Outsider", using evidence from the text. 

Assignment 2: Researched Argument - This in class assignment involved creating an argument or counterargument about a current problem using sources from the GTC library. 

Module 3- Research

Assignment 1: Annotated bibliography - This assignment took research skills we had learned in the previous assignments and helped get those on paper into a essay style.

Assignment 2: Revised Annotated Bibliography - This assignment involved making a new question to research and generally improving the original bibliography. 

Module 4- Crafting Argument

Assignment 1: Essay Two - This essay took the skills learned all year and put them all into practice creating one strong argumentative research essay. 

Assignment 2: Portfolio Reflection - This assignment involved reflecting on the two major essays written for this class. It helped reflect and show what could be done better in the future
