Most of us are afraid to fall in love and to confess to that special someone that we love them. Why? Because we are afraid of the rejection. It is really true that some things are better left unsaid. However, wouldn’t it be better if we tell them about what we feel? 

As I watched you entered the quadrangle with your team — once again, for the nth time, you caught my attention. Just like how you put a beat with the drum you were holding, you made my heart beat so fast as if I just came back from running. Just wearing a simple black vans shirt, light brown pants, and a black & white rubber shoes — you stand out in that crowd, from my point of view. Didn’t know you’re kinda good in singing! Those were just some lines from a famous song, but what you did made me smile & laugh! As I stared at you from a long distance between us — watching your every move, how you smiled, how you laughed, made me realize that I couldn’t have you neither nor could I even have the chance to get to know you more. 

Sometimes, love comes when we least expect it. With the simple things our loved ones do, they never failed to drown us with the feeling we have for them. Just like a skimboard touching the water on the seashore, and a ball that gets served on the net after receiving a hit  — kissing the wind, I’ll just go with the flow wherever this takes me — us.  

When we are in love, there’s always this thought that keeps lingering in our mind “What if you like me, too?”, hoping to be given a chance to be loved again after years of being hurt & left alone by the person who promised to stay.

Father I come before you in adoration knowing you are the creator of heaven and Earth and knowing with you everything is possible. And in that same faith , I ask for good sleep and good dreams this night for myself and my family. I pray that you may cover us with the precious blood of Jesus. I remember our relatives and friends in every part of the world. I pray for the blood of Jesus upon their lives and loved ones. I pray for good health and protection over each and everyone of us. And as I lay down my head tonight I know you have answered me. I know you have gone before me to make every part straight.

And it's in Jesus name I do pray trusting and believing. Amen.

Despite our close friendship, I knew I couldn't ask her out for two reasons. Firstly, my self-confidence was non-existent, and I felt like I wasn't good enough for her. Secondly, I knew the relationship wouldn't last long. That was mainly because my parents wouldn't allow it. They were keen that I focus on my studies, and they would never have approved of me dating someone while still in school.

Looking back, I often wonder what might have been if I had just taken a chance and asked her out. Maybe we could have had a great time together, even if it was just for a little while. But I'll never know for sure. All I know is that if I have any regrets in my life, it would be not asking her out.
