Music is a complicated topic for me with a lot of baggage. For many years I played music myself, mostly Piano and Trombone, and now I listen to music almost every moment I'm awake whether on my phone or computer. It has, to a large degree, defined who I am and I feel as though what I listen to reflects my personality. I seek out music constantly, but also have some regrets about not trying to pursue music further after high school. My tastes have (naturally) changed drastically throughout the years, and I kept an extensive backlog of all the music I've listened to and enjoyed so I can always go back to reminisce about past times. Currently I enjoy lo-fi hip hop and downtempo, but I like to think I'm pretty open minded about most genres; pop and country generally don't do anything for me, however. I have a Spotify playlist set up with about 1500 songs and 100 hours of music that I slowly add to as I go along and find more music.

Quotes:
“So we were hanging out and I was playing him ideas... I created all the little loops that it starts with – they’re all randomly generated – and set them at random and had Jon improvise. And that was the idea… to have the pianist improvising to this algorithm. We did about three takes from start to finish and kept it as it was.” Green,

Bonobo interview: Simon Green on new album Migration, living in LA, and observing Britain from the outside

“It’s sort of montage, what I do,” he explains, “it’s taking bits of sound and re-contextualising it and putting things together from two different places and seeing how they fit together. So you end up with this patchwork of stuff that I’ve recorded.” Green,

Bonobo interview: Simon Green on new album Migration, living in LA, and observing Britain from the outside

Album cover for an album by Ljones, "Soul Below"

Album cover for an album by Jinsang, "Solitude"

Below are two links for songs I've enjoyed recently that reflect my favorite genres:

<iframe src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/4NiHgMzOLHAF0385bkvZwT" width="300" height="380" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>

<iframe src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/2oFIBSwhuifFB3OLA0ft0Q" width="300" height="380" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>
