In the first few chapters of Exposure I was wondering why Dana and Julie hated each other. I was also wondering what happened between Dana and Julie for them to dislike each other so much. Everything about their past started making sense throughout the middle of the book and I was able to understand Dana and Julie's relationship.

What if I had dandruff or a pimple?” I can relate because I have been insecure or self conscious sometimes.

I can infer that Dana is insecure about herself and that is why she puts others down. On page 3 Dana says 'If your fat gut didn't stick out farther than your boobs, your shirt wouldn't look so stupid.' This shows me Dana likes to put other people down so she can feel good about herself.

Some of the main events in the book were in the beginning it sort of explained the characters and their personalities and some of the relationships in the book. For example, Julie was afraid to walk past Dana and he friends so I could assume Dana was a bully. Another main event was the party Julie's brother went to. This was a huge part of the book because Dana was doing some bad things and when Julie found out about that night she would want to expose Dana. The last main event was Julie going over to Dana's house to apologize and start over with Dana.

The authors writing style in Exposure is narrative and descriptive. It is narrative because it is telling the story of Julie's high school years. It is also descriptive because many times the author, Patricia Murdoch, focuses on describing many events throughout the story.

I honestly really enjoyed this book. I could relate to Julie a lot and reading this book made me want to change how I interact with people. The book was very realistic about what happens in high school and I think more middle school students should read Exposure to prepare for what is to come in high school.
