GOLD- The Muscovy Company in of London provided Hudson financial helping him so that he could find a ice free passage past the North Pole. It would later then provide a shorter route to richer markets and resources in Asia.
COMPARE/CONTRAST- This would compare this with the Silk Road because they had markets and resources for other countries and people. But I would contrast this with it too because instead of multiple countries trading it was just Hudson and his crew going to get resources from Asia.
GLORY- In the 16th hundreds Hudson was in search for a Northeast passage. The Northeast passage is from the European and Northern Atlantic. It was a shipping route to the Pacific Ocean along Norway and Russia.
COMPARE/CONTRAST- Looking for reasons why Henry Hudson explored I would compare his reason with the Northwest passage. It would compare to the Northeast passage because they both are passages found and explored. But they also contrast because the Northwest passage were through the islands of Canada.

1. Henry Hudson accomplished in finding three waterways. They were named after him, the Hudson River, Hudson Bay, and Hudson Strait.

2. But not only just that he traveled further north than any other explorer before him.

3. He then later went out and sailed for the 4th time.

These all had an effect because he found waterways helping travelling on water easier and more efficient.
COMPARE: This can compare to the Middle Passage because they both are a passage/waterway somehow related to the United States.
CONTRAST: This can contrast because the Middle Passage was a way of transporting slaves while the waterways Hudson found were not.

Henry Hudson's journey created cultural blending when he was with the Native Americans and Indigenous people. An example of the cultural blending caused by his journey is he met up with the Indigenous people for trade, such as steel knives, hatchets and he met with the Natives for corn, bread and oysters. He brought back knowledge of the landscape in the North and he also brought back knowledge of the Natives and Indigenous people. They also brought back the things they traded.

FIRST ITEM: They brought back corn from the Natives. This has and impact because it was a cheap and easily grown crop for food. It can connect to today because so much corn is grown and produced. And is one of the leading crops grown today.

SECOND ITEM: They also brought back steel knives from the Indigenous people. These are good and can connect to today for their use. They can be used to sharpen knives for better smooth cuts.

EFFECT ONE: When the Europeans came to the Americas new diseases the Europeans brought over. Some examples of the diseases they brought are chicken pox, pneumonic plague, influenza, measles and whooping cough.
EFFECT TWO: Another effect is religion. The introduction of Christianity to the native population.
EFFECT THREE: The effects of colonization on the environment are that deforestation and depletion of the nutrients in the soil and the introduction of foreign plant and animal species. A Lot of the native plant species were reduced from the livestock they brought over.
