Artist Statement

This project is two parakeet birds in a cage. One is in the cage while the other is flying out. This project represents me as it is a tie to my grandma and the large cage of parakeets she has in her backyard in Argentina. I feel very strongly connected to my argentinian culture and the values that it has instilled in me. The bird represent not only my grandma but how this side of my family has taught me to be free spirited.

Cut out the shape of my hand and thinned out the fingers.

Put in minors on fingers with wooden tools and knife. (fingers kept falling off)
