Life would be different without friends
Jon and Emma go to the 18 Plus Club run by Keynsham and District Mencap society and have maintained their friendship of 25 years. Here they meet their friends and arrange to go swimming on a regular basis. They both live independently and are supported by staff when needed.
Jon and Emma both went to College although Jon appeared to enjoy it more - maybe Emma's College was not so exciting. Their friendship is very important to them both and they value the opportunities it affords them to talk and share their feelings. They also go to the pub and on holiday as a group with the 18 plus club as well as social events in the community.
