The thing I struggled with most on the rhetorical analysis was when I started to try and conclude each paragraph, and every time I did it I feel like it made it sloppy. I think this is because I never have been the best at looking at the end of the paragraph and more worried about how many sentences about the topic I need to write to meet the dead line. I also barely knew what the rhetorical strategies are so I wasn't able to start right away. Even when I did figure out what one of them meant I wasn't able to match the others. I haven't heard of them in a while and the three just being said in another way didn't help me figure it out. The last thing I didn't do well on was writing and restating the thesis. I honestly don't really know why I didn't do so well on that, as in every English class we go over how to write it and good examples, but I just fail at writing the right things when it comes down to it.

When an article is written the event that have recently happened, just happened, or things that are building up to happen later all matter. The writer can take inspiration to write about those things in the article. It can create bias if the events have already happened and he experienced them. Even if he doesn't take inspiration or create a bias off the events, the events will still affect the way he talks which will reflect on the way he writes. Looking at articles it is important to look at the events around the time it was written to get a general idea of where this writer lives or ha went through. For example if you were to read a writing right after 2001 the writing will be completely different than if the presidential election just passed.

Using Soapstone instead of using the rhetorical triangle you n split the 3 main points in to 6 and be more clear in what the article is about and what the purpose is. Also using the triangle makes it harder for readers to understand the breakdown as using soapstone it is easier to understand when the word before the breakdown is an overview.

In the week the first two week were great until I came back on the Wednesday. When I came back I had somehow missed two projects, reading assignments, paragraphs on topics I don't understand and other worksheets just for busy work. Everything had been gone over in the span of two days and I had to finish it all by the end of the week. Like any smart student I don't like homework and will hold it off while I do it in school overtime. The over extending amount of homework my teachers work together to torture me with I could finish at school. On Thursday I went home from school with 1 more homework assignment I was going to have to finish by Friday. Everything was due the next day so obviously I have to slave all day to finish the homework. Now obviously I procrastinated and took breaks whenever I felt need because I shouldn't have been doing so much homework yesterday anyways. At the end of all the assignment ans tab switches I had to go through I ended up finishing almost all of it at 4 am and finally went to sleep only to have to finish the homework before 4th period and to be tired the whole day.

Depending on the point of view they can contradict each other but usually they are the same person. If they are the same person then the author would be telling their own story while the narrator just puts it out on paper. The narrator which can be used to tell another story could work against what the author is trying to portray. If the speaker is the author then they don't work against each other while they both try to get the story across.

In a fictional story there is a clear speaker or main character with the theme and things like theme are obvious.

I think that me personally would choose logic over the other 3 but emotion in a close second. As of right now my personal reputation is nothing crazy and would make no sense to bring up me being high school in an argument. Emotion makes people want to commit to your reasoning most times unless you make the other person feel more angry. Morality just wouldn't work unless its a specific argument about people in jail or rights in the constitution etc. That being said logic will work for an argument 100% of the time. If you are arguing with someone and they have no idea what they are talking about then they wont be able to make another claim that can swipe away logic. It doesn't rely n if the other person can feel emotion it's just the facts and the facts can't be reasoned with.

This week has been a lot easier than the last. I had pretty much no homework the entire week so the days pretty much grazed by. During school I watch a lot of Netflix after I was given my assignment and I started watching The Walking Dead. I got to season 2 episode 4 and so far I don't dislike anybody in the show besides the racist dude from the first episode. Other than that the homework I do have is all due today like all the homework that is assigned and I haven't finished a single on of them so I'm going to have to work super hard today to get it all done. Although I don't like having to work super hard at school, it beats doing it at home 100%. Also I'm not sure if it is already 7 sentences or not so I hope this fixes that problem.

Tone is the author's attitude during the writing. It takes place during the entire passage/ article and can be hard to see. You can find it by looking at big feeling words and combining them all. Without tone the story or article wouldn't have the need for the author in the first place. Without the author showing his attitude there is no need for him to be there as he or she adds nothing to the story. And without having the author there it may be harder to get the reason/ purpose the story was created.

Depending on the picture and the artist yes you can easily see tone in it. If the picture is taken from a camera it may be a lot harder but I do believe you could figure it out if it's from a very passionate photographer. Now if he's passionate and he drew it you can see the tone all throughout the picture. No f the painter or photographer doesn't like his job and that's not the topic of the image than I don't believe the tone will be easily depicted. It happens because of the bias of the artist because he will always have an opinion about what he is doing even if he says he doesn't. With the idea of bias in place you could always really find the toe from what you see that was left by the artist.

Although not every article has an argument in it, most of them hide one inside. Both argument and purpose is used by trying to get a point across. By making any type of argumentative essay most of the time your purpose becomes the argument you are creating. Since they become the same they are easily spotted in the purpose of the article. Although they will seem the same they are different, portrayed by the purpose of an argumentative essay is to get the argument across and isn't the exact same as the argument. The argument can always have counter arguments and such things while the purpose of the article is set in stone as what the author had in mind when he was making the article.

Doing this one a bit late haven't gotten around to it doing homework from other classes everyday. As well as having to prepare for the test in Mr. Beelers class. Doing the vocab and stuff I've missed from other classes or got way to behind in. Other than that, I've been way to sleepy for this week ever since I stayed up to late trying to complete that vocab. Doing tons of busy work and such like that really annoys me due to I could be doing something productive or learning instead of that.

Because of that I don;t think I have a specific writing style and it is completely interchangeable with the different tone and mood I wish to portray. Obviously if you are telling a sad story where people die for no reason you wont keep spotting and pointing out the Irony of the situation. You could use imagery or figurative language to make the audience feel sad for them. I think if I was writing something sad the thing that would be most obvious to the reader would be the figurative language I would use to make them feel sad.

If you look at how we use them it's usually to inform someone of death or something of bad news. Thinking about that how would they not be reserved to help someones feelings. Also however they are good to use and die down the intensity of the situation they can easily just be seen as little lies. When informing of someones death you would never like to say what actually happened so you might tell someone it was peaceful. But the problem is that death is never peaceful and they didn't go peacefully even if they go in their sleep because do we ever know what they were going through in their head at that moment.

I don't necessarily dislike third person as most movies are third person, but I think for reading you can understand the story better from the first person perspective. First person follows through the eyes of the the main character and lets you know their emotions and what they view of other people. With third person unless the narrator is omniscient than he won't get to know what the character is feeling.

I can't really tell what the question means like presenting or just telling someone somethings in private, but depending on what it means not very comfortable. Looking at it at first if I were to present just like always I would buckle under pressure. Presenting things in front of a class hasn't been a strong suit of mine after 8th grade. If I were to tell a friend this instead of a group I'm comfortable with that. I actually already did to bounce off y ideas with him. Again if it's presenting however I will probably just take a zero.

I watched on Monday 21 and 22 Jump Street which were absolutely hilarious. Jonah Hill was just such a good actor for that type of movie followed by Channing Tatum just made it perfect. The TV shows I watched was Big Mouth which wasn't bad but it wasn't as good as people made it out to be and after that I began watching Bojack Horseman which seems good because the voice actor Will Arnett is really reliable. I'm planning on watching Dune over the weekend, which I hope is as good as people say and that's pretty much it.

When I got to school I was greeted with the knowledge we had both classes today and we had a quiz that no one prepared later in the day. Other than that I would say to do your homework at school because then you won't have to do it at home. The work you can't complete procrastinate until the very last second.

I think the most important thing to think about with a rhetorical analysis is the background. You have to think about the times the article was written in. Not only the time it was made and the history behind it, you must also think about the writer. When thinking about the writer you have to think if he has gone through this experience. If he has any information or knowledge about the topic. If not he can't be a credible source for any opinions he might say. Another important thing is to consider the wording used to get an impression of how the writer feels.

Now I know most of the information you get to write about doesn't even come from the article but the background. It's what you imagine when you see them talking, you see their surroundings as what was described earlier. Also it can matter if you've been somewhere like that area so you have a better understanding of what happens in the beginning. Like if they are at the grand canyon and you've been there you might be able to imagine how hot it would be or the wind speed they are having to deal with in the story. While if you haven't you can't imagine those things going on in the background and makes the setting more dead.

I again have seen the movie so it's not going to come as a surprise anything later in the story when it's revealed. However the secrecy does help a lot for the story. It hides characters until it finally reveals after it was being built up. It helps the characters be bigger than they are in reality and works well for how the story plays out.

However when I was reading it I was still a little confused it was about to happen or not because it took a lot longer than I thought it did. I'm assuming that it was just because it was a movie rather than it being the book. And now that I'm sitting her thinking about it the movie is actually a lot faster paced than the book I fell like that was a directing choice for the movie which I guess makes sense for type of story to tell. A story of mystery and confusion, going super fast and not stopping for important things makes complete sense.

I don't see the point of me having to take AP classes especially if I'm not taking the exam so I just think it's a little silly. I mean I could just imagine how much less stressed I would have been to figure out I wasn't taking the exams. I didn't stress too much besides the upcoming weeks but I mean come on.

Well honestly no one should be telling the story besides Nick. Although I think it would be interesting however to see the troy from Tom's point of view. I'd only say that because about half way through the story he just acts completely oblivious to whatever is happening with his wife. I mean come on for like an hour your wife was gone with another man. And the fact that he never even found them. I just think he's a little dumb. the ending as well would be interesting to see from Tom's point of view since he's the one who caused it instead of the one who mourns.

I think the only fair one so far into the story would be Jordan. She's kind of innocent of the New York lifestyle except for the lying. That kind of makes her a bad character as well so I guess I would say none of them. But Jordan is pretty sweet towards Nick. Daisy would be my favorite by the end maybe if she ended up with Gatsby instead of Tom. But she completely stabs Gatsby in the back I mean that's messed up.

One concern with a rhetorical analysis is I always think my brain will completely lock up when I look at the article. I mean every single time we do one I have to look and read the article twice maybe even three times just to read what the point of the article was. Then I have to find the devices. The devices are the hardest part for me sitting there reading and interpreting parts of the article to connect it to a rhetorical device is not the easiest thing to do. It's not like I'm bad at it just not the best, I mean I always come up with something to put down it just takes me a little longer than others.

I wish I could have envisioned it better when I read it but it had been too long since I've seen the movie so I could't see it in my head. But every single time I read anything about Gatsby the only thing I can envision is him form the movie Wolf of Wall Street. It is the funniest thing to picture. Him getting shot in a pool acting like Jordan Belfort is hilarious to imagine.

I think according to FSF the American Dream isn't a goal and just a way of thinking. Throughout the book he makes the American Dream absolutely unreachable. This green light at the end of the dock two times was symbolized as this goal in the person's mind. The first time he met it but couldn't keep it. The fact that it couldn't last makes this goal completely unreachable. At the end of the book it goes back to this initial unreachable goal through Nick's mind this time. In his mind he wants to get to the goal of exploration of the world before peoples colonization. Again an impossible goal to reach.

It's a great book. It gets its point across from this unreachable dream. I like the story it conveys as well and after watching the movie it's even better in my opinion. You can see all the events in the story being done by two actors that you wouldn't suspect to be the actual characters. I'm not really the biggest fan of reading so I like the movie a bit more, but the book is still really good and can convey a feeling a bit more.

Another scene that I thought was pretty cool the first time I watched it was the party scene. All of them in my opinion are great. They move so fast and can convey the environment very well. I think it will also be cool to see Gatsby reveal himself for the first time as it is a cool little scene that is hinted at the entire time.

In The Great Gatsby he creates this mysterious rich person who can't be understood. He does a perfect job in every movie to be outlined as the character he plays. In this movie I watched recently with him as the main character, he just makes me think he's that person. As well as every movie I've ever watched with him in it.

I don't really need to remember anything but if I was the only thing I would be doing would be praying and hoping. I stress a lot when taking tests or quizzes maybe I would try to stay calm.
