It would only be appropriate to send staff members that need the courses, such as life guards. Sending cleaners on courses wouldn’t need to be done, as it is not appropriate to their role. Where as lifeguards and first aiders need to be kept up to date, for example renewing their training. Lifeguards must renew their qualification every 3 years. First Aid qualifications should be updated annually, with refresher courses put on by a regulated provider. By renewing staffs qualifications by sending them back on courses, it will enable them to legally help in an emergency or accident in a leisure centre. For example if someone was to almost drown in the swimming pool at a leisure centre and requires medical attention such as CPR, lifeguards must have the correct up to date qualifications to perform CPR on the individual, by keeping lifeguards up to date with their qualifications it enables them to do so. positive outcomes of this are that it prevents injury and death and helps ensure the safety of the participants.
