He is a ambitious man but strong ambitions can lead to a lot of selfishness and desperation, He shows ambition because he really wants to get this liquor business set up that he gives all his money to Willy Harris. He was selfish mainly because he gave away all of Beneatha's college money. And the desperation calls for desperate measures so he thought he could trust Willy with the money because he was so desperate that they were going to bribe city officials for the liquor license.

As it shows in the text,"Gone, what you mean Willy is gone? Gone where? You mean he went by himself. You mean he went off to Springfield by himself-- to take care of getting the liquor license. This texts shows that Wily without there permission he took the money and took off without saying a word.

Walter Perspective of himself

I feel that Walter sees himself as a caring father, irresponsible with money, and hes frustrated about his old job and hates it. Walter is also always looking for ways to help his family financially. A example from book could be the time he was complaining about his job on (Hansberry34) which he talks about how he gets to tell his kids stories about how rich white people live because they don't enough money for a comfortable living.

I feel that Walter could be okay at times but most times I feel he could be very irresponsible. Mainly because he gave all his moms money away in a day and didn't save any for his sisters college money. It was shown in ( Hansberry 129) his mom was beating him over him losing the money. This goes to show that Walter is very irresponsible by giving away money to a person he didn't entirely trust.

I feel this symbolizes Walter because he is very protective of his family and he just wants to benefit them. He is also taking heavy tolls trying to provide for them. An example of one of those tolls was giving away all of the family funds to try and get a bar to make more money to provide for them. But the guy named Willy Harris stole it all including the college money.

Theme Paragraph

How does the theme Injustice and Racism reflected in act 1 of Raisin in the Sun? It's reflected when Walter talks about how he talks to his son that sleeps in his living room about how white people are more privileged than them. As shown in the text, “I'm a thirty five year old man, I been married eleven years and I got a boy who sleeps in the living room and all I got to give to him is stories about how rich white people live.” This quote shows that Walter is frustrated with the injustice in racism that privileged white people had over them. Injustice and racism are shown in act one because Beneatha also goes through it because she wants to be a doctor and they said that people her race and gender don’t usually get those jobs back then.

This symbolizes Walter because it talks about spending all his money with a care. As it shows in the lyrics "Once I lived the life of a millionaire spent all my money, I just did not care took all my friends out for a good time bought bootleg liquor, champagne and wine. This symbolizes him because he spent all his money without a care on getting that bar but got scammed. He also talks about spending it on alcohol which Walter did lot.
