I wouldn't say that Chilean food has recieved most of its influence from Britain, it's more like a mixing of Spanish, French, German, British and Indigenous cousine influence, but from my point of view the thing that has remained until today is tea, Chile is one of the countries that drinks more tea in Latin America, in the supermarket it's one of the largest sections. We have also adopted the "tea time" and call it "once" although that has a diferent meaning, the tea is often acompanied of a sweet pastry or just bread, that it's often eaten during the whole day.
I have also found that the Delicious lemon pie was present since the middle ages and often prepared for feasts organized by the Queen Elizabeth of England.

When she returned to London, the Duchess started the practice by inviting friends to visit for "drink tea eat bread and fines cakes " Even if the tradition of take a tea in the afternoon began in Chile as an excuse to drink alcohol we normalized it in our lives through now.

But what about our loved football?

Yes, England brought us football founding the first football club called Santiago Wanderers, in Valparaíso year 1896. In 1830 the merchant ships found in Valparaíso a safe port to store and distribute their products. And trying to recreate the English way of life in our country they brought us their traditions.

The british have played an important role in our customs and activities in Chile, thanks to globalization. The fact that tea time exists "Once", is an example of how british customs influenced Chile. Tea time, in fact, was originally created as an excuse to drink brandy in colonial times.
In other countries, this isn't common because the English immigrants who came to Chile brought it. In fact, Chile is one of the countries where English customs are most present. Another example of this is football, with the founding of "Santiago Wanderers Football Club", now simply known as "Santiago Wanderers".
:)

The first time was in charge of the Doctor of historian and sports journalist, Gonzalo Serrano, who reviewed the beginnings of football in Chile. The so called "king sport" would arrive in our country at the end of the XIX and beginning of the XX centuries by the hand of the English. For this reason, it is not surprising that city’s port, such as Valparaiso, has English named , Everton or Rangers. Nor is it surprising, then, that Anglo-Saxon terms are still used during matches, such as “off line”, “corner” or “foul”.
