Stokes et al 2017. Papp was dismissed from Stokes place of employment and when he tried to move on and find a new employment he found himself faced with the harsh words of Mr. Stokes directed towards his character and work ethic. 
However the Judged ruled in favour of Stokes that giving someone a poor reference is not defamation of character. It is simply being honest.
