I think everyone should have equal rights and equal opportunity - i believe that the power should belong to JUST the people and there shouldn't be a small majority running the government. I grew up around him while he was in college studying to be a teacher. He is very far left leaning and got me into activism, social justice and the real history of america which i'm grateful for. Within three days hundreds joined and it became a movement to desegregate lunch counters. They later created a group called the SNCC who would be a big part of the freedom rides and voting rights in the south. This was important because it started a domino effect as soon as one group did it, everyone else realized they could do it too. Without a small jump start we wouldn't be where we are today.
