https://padlet.com/TonyaDunn/About Tonya Dunn is a respected educator who engaged with the Klein Independent School District in Spring, Texas, for six years as fourth- and fifth-grade English and language arts (ELA) teacher. Among her accomplishments as an ELA teacher was teaching students the basics of reading and writing. In 2013, Tonya Dunn was recognized as Klein Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year. Ms. Dunn has earlier experience as fourth-grade teacher with Houston’s Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, where she also focused on instilling a firm grounding in the essentials of reading and writing. She previously led third-grade classes as an ELA teacher with the Friendswood Independent School District. Completing her bachelor’s degree at the University of Houston, Clear Lake, Ms. Dunn earned her degree in reading and minored in English elementary education. She was a member of the Reading Committee and engaged with juveniles who had been incarcerated in teaching core communication skills that would allow them to succeed in life.
