Why do you infer the author chose the title of this chapter

I think the author the title of the chapter because the chapter is called chapter one, and this chapter was all about how juniper grew up, and whether parents used to do with her and all about her. Acorrding to the text on page 2, “ Juniper was an only child, a lonely child, mostly because her parents were adamant to keep things that way. Mr and Mrs Berry were very famous.” I think the author wrote this because, she wanted to describe how Juniper felt when she was a child and how much her parents didn’t care about her because, her parents igorned her.

What are the most important events in the story? Why?

The most important events in the story are, when Juniper met Giles because, that really impacted her life because it was like her first real friend since she has been stuck in a mansion her whole life and she doesn’t go to real school she’s home schooled and there is gates around her mansion so she can’t go see her neighbors. Acorrding to the text on page 27 it states, “ The boy hesitated, then nodded. Juniperran to him and held the umbrella over both their heads. Up close, she noticed he had a sweet smell about him and that his eyes captured a pattern she had never before seen, the brown and gold of his iris constantly swirling. He gave a soft smile and she liked the way one corner of his mouth ran up the side of his face while the other remained level.” I think the author wrote this because she wanted us to know how she and Giles became friends right away. Also later in the book Giles came back again and this time when Giles came back him and Juniper started telling each other secrets. Acorrding to the text on page 60 it states, “ the truth Giles repeated. They can be very truthful. They bring everything closer.” I think the author wrote this because she wanted us to know how much theytrust each other.

Why?

I think the most important events in the story are, when she met Giles because I think so does not have any friends because her parents enclosed her in there mansion because, her parents were scared for her to meet the real world so it was important that she met Giles because she got to have a friend even know he had to walk a half in hour to get to her house. Also acorrding to the text on page 27 it states, “ The boy hesitated, then nodded. Juniper ran to him and held the umbrella over both their heads. Acorrding to the text on page 119 it states, “ Juniper said, you don’t need that, you but Neptune screeched a deafening screech, drowndingout her words.” I think the author wrote this book in third person point of view because she wanted to tell the story in third person point of view.

Why is that important?

Does the story take place?how is it important?

The story takes place in Juniper's house and her yard and I know this because in the book on page 77 it stated "with her sneakers already on,Juniper ran out of the room, down the stairs, and to the back door, kitty close to her heels.Quitely, she pushed the door open and, just as Giles had his own, followed her parents into the woods."I think this is important because it takes a big in pack to the book and it tells you that juniper is going into her woods.

When I look at the pictures I feel depressed because in most of the pictures Juniper is being ignored. She is waiting for her parents to egnolage her but they are both heading in two different directions. In fact Juniper's mother tossed Juniper her coat! In the next picture shows a boy (who in my opinion looked like a zombie!Yikes!) and it kind of made me feel scared. I thought Juniper was in danger. But it just turned out to be a silly boy. I think that the illustrater did a wonderful job with the storie's pictures.

How is the character feeling in this part of the story? Why? Well i think juniper is felling neglect because he parents don’t even talk to her eat here or do anything the only thing they do is buy what she wants but they don’t get what she needs what she needs is love how I now here parents neglect here because it says on page 8, “she turned to her mother who promptly tossed juniper her coat. Also some more evidence how here father and mother neglect it is on page 8 it says, “juniper grinned he’s going to try to scare me, she thought Dad! But he keep walking.” Also what juinper feeling is sadness because how would want parents that did not care for you. They just want to be rich they would take there job over family that is sad. also juniper can not leave the gate well that can be bad because then she can’t make a friend because she is homeschooled.

What is Juniper feeling in this part of the story? Why?
Juniper is having very intense moments in this part of the story. I think that Juniper is feeling depressed in this part of the story because her parents are always ignoring her sometimes even abusing her. On page 12 her mother told Juniper " Oh, your pathetic!" Her mother told her that because a Juniper wouldn't read the gossip magazines fir her mother. On page 43 it said "She was shaking Juniper now, digging her nails into her daughters arms." This shows that her mother is abused get her daughter. I think that Juniper is not treated fairly. And Juniper deserves a lot more respect than she gets.

How juniper changes is because at the start she is in prison because she can’t leave the gate and can’t make friends because she is homeschooled but how she changes is on page 26

Juniper meets a boy in her backyard which starts a relationship with juniper and the boy because the text says, “would you like to share she asked, raising the umbrella The boy hesitated then nodded. Juniper ran to him and held the umbrella over both their heads.” Also how juniper changes it that she starts to tell Giles something that something is on page 32 it says, “why don’t I ever see you at school? He asked her. Oh I’m homeschooled Giles nodded I wish I wasn’t you don’t it’s incredibly lonely.” I would not want to be homeschooled because my teacher ms Carlson’s is a great teacher.

I think she is curious because she is always looking out for dangers and is always up to find out the truth. In the story Juniper is always asking herself " What is so important about that tree?" This shows she always wants to find out about the world. On time Giles and Juniper were looking for clues and sh pulled out one of her binoculars and Giles asked "Why do you always have those?" Asked Giles. "They always help me see closer, help me see the truth." This shows she is always trying to be the best she can be. I think that Juniper is a amazingly smart and talented.

Juniper is becoming more and more braver through this text. I know this because Just nipwr is always looking out for clues about the tree. I know this because the text says " I wear these binoculars because they help me see things bigger and help me see the truth." This shows that Juniper is always looking fir the truth. The truth lead her all the way to the underworld which hr parents dissaper to every night when Juniper is asleep. I know this because the text also states. "Juniper is asleep, lets go." This shows that Juniper's parents are going somewhere (which happens to be the underworld). I think that Juniper has really grown inn bravery since she met Giles.

Juniper has changed from bing a little shy girl to a responsible adventurer on a quest to save her parents. Juniper has been frightened so much with figuring out about the underworld and trying to save Giles. On page 178 the text said "Mom!Dad!in an instant, everything went still. At the sound of her voice, her parents bodies went limp and th house was silent yet again." Earlier in the chapter Juniper found out that air is not fill the balloons but the blowers soul. On page 127 " No. she said in a unwavering voice. No? What do you mean no? I am offering you a future of dreams." This shows that no matter how Bradley Juniper wants something, even if there is a tiny possibility she could die she won't do it.
