I am a middle grades teacher. My school is 70% Hispanic and 30% MLs. We serve alot of students who are considered new comers. This year as an 8th grade teacher, I would use sensory bins for those students to connect their vocabulary words to their visual learning. A great way would be starting in our current unit which is Ecosystems. I could create a bin where student have to choose a card with a description of an organism. They would then partner with another student who has their own organism and have to identify the symbiotic relationships ( mutualism,Prey/predator , Commensalism ) between those two organisms.

I could use toys as well.

Taneshia Moore
