Disassociation and anxiety. When I get panic and anxiety attacks, I “fear” and feel bugs fly and buzz in my head and stomach. I feel like I cannot breathe and I feel like I am unattached to my body, feeling “headless”. The red and yellow represents the feelings of “exploding” and “death”, as in Russian culture, Yellow represents death.

When I was a younger boy, Everything felt muffled to me. I experienced hearing differently and I didn’t recognize what emotions really were and still struggle with it. I can see them, but I couldn’t see them. Every noise felt odd unless it was loud or close to me like my mother scolding me or the TV when Teletubbies was on. (Marker and pencil sketch)

I’ve recently found this type of “core” online in tiktok along with a couple others. As you can guess, it’s revolved around dreams, the past and bad memories. A lot of the times, I tend to be in a disassociated state of mind and “air headed” to forget. It’s a defense of mine to put my head in the clouds to forget the bad things and to forget how estranged my relationship with my (toxic) mother can really be. The eyes represent people who watch me and mock me for my strange behavior. (Digital)
