The plan for my friend is to learn all the piano flash cards by the time schools starts. This is a good plan for her since she really wants to learn piano and learning all the notes will really help. Also she will be motivated to do it since there is a deadline and because she wants to. This isn't a very hard task it's just one of the first steps to learning piano. It's a better goal than try to learn to play piano by the end of summer since that's not measurable and because that is to hard of a goal.

"According to current studies only 20% of the population sets goals, and as many as 92% of those goals are never achieved" (Excerpt From: Hilliard City Schools. “Unit 2: Goal Setting Skills” v2.0. iBooks). Therefore you need to make sure it is a SMART goal when you set it so you will be more likely to complete your goal.

"The most important thing to remember is that these are your goals, not your parent's, your teacher's, or anyone else's" (Excerpt From: Hilliard City Schools. “Unit 2: Goal Setting Skills” v2.0. iBooks). Since I made this goal for my friend I have to understand that it isn't on her terms and since she didn't make it she probably won't be as motivated to complete the goal.
