Violins sustain notes extremely high in their register - eerie/ ethereal sound, sense of anticipation.
Mirroring these sustained high notes at the bottom of the texture, an extremely low tonic pedal in the ww, and later, tuba, grounds the music and invites a sense of foreboding.
Strings and ww play relentless seimiquaver arpeggio figure, building tension.
Combined with the harp, the semiquavers have a rippling effect like the light on the water as the cradle floats into the tunnel.
Staccato Cello, Bassoon and Clarinet play a repetitive quaver/semi quaver rhythm, which anticipates the military rhythm we hear from bar 11.

At this point in the title credits we have, on screen, a shot showing that we are below ground, in the sewers. To begin with the violins play the melody and then it is passed over to the harp and the cello. Throughout this section we have a pedal note in the violoncello and double bass, which is then continued by the woodwind

This is when the pram had just been thrown over the bridge and is floating away. The arpeggiated figure in the strings and woodwind help to reflect the shimmering water as it sounds fast and rippley. Then, the Batman motif is hinted at with the first two notes as the pram continues to float further down the sewer. B.9-10 enforces the full batman motif in the horns followed by a rhythmically exciting triplet figure.

Pram is floating and it's a bit more serene; the batman motif keeps playing, passed around the orchestra, first in trombone and tuba, then horns, then the upper trumpet and horns together. It still continues the dark atmosphere, using droning chords in the bass lines.

The batman motif I see heard with short repeated ostinato phrases to help maximise the tension as the titles of the cast appear on the screen. The batman motif is continuously passed through a variety of instruments including the horns, woodwind and bassoon and bass clarinet. The pram floating continues on the screen until the title appears in the next bar.

The baby carrier is being carried down the rapids. The tempo here calms down considerably creating a sense of mystery. The dynamic notation mp means moderately quiet, so this could be the calm before the storm?

The camera moves along a sewer wall until there is a gap where the pram is shown (still floating in the opposite direction) main melodic line briefly moves into the high strings to decrease the intense atmosphere made by the brass instruments to lighten the orchestra and reflect the innocence of the pram. This is short lived and it soon moves back to the intense orchestration still in strings.

In bar 75 there is a rhythmic variation of the batman theme in the trombone and tuba part that is then echoed by the horns. In bar 77 it goes back to the normal rhythm, crescendoing up to bar 80 where everyone plays a fortissimo chord. The violins and choir carry on with the melody followed by a harp glissando in bar 84.
