Artificial intelligence is one of the main unethical dilemmas of this generation since it replaces many people's mechanical jobs. Although AI facilitates a lot for people it also can cause poor living conditions for many people since it replaces their job, hence impacting their finances and economy. However, if used correctly it can be optimized and used as a tool to more efficiently get things done. Especially since AI cannot fully replace human creativity.

They cut corners on many important safety features such as the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS) as well as communication failures and insufficient training. Oil is one of the hardest things to find right now and we are going to run out of it before we find enough. Everything that we are using as a renewable resource comes from oil this is why it is an unethical dilemma. Wind turbines, solar panels, lithium batteries are all damaging to the environment. polluting waters and killing environments. If these things were really the answer they would be everywhere and people would be more believing in these renewable resources. everything we use is made from OIL.

For example, Roger Boisjoly had warned NASA about a problem with the space shuttle Challenger's rocket seals, but he ended up getting ignored, leading to the shuttle exploding. Sometimes whistleblowers could risk losing their jobs, but their actions do prevent accidents and could save lives of others. Engineers have to put the public's safety first even if it's risky for themselves.

The site is great for business, but this means they'd have to cut down some trees, possibly polluting a river, used by wildlife and communities in the area, damaging the environment. The engineer thinks the report is rushed and could approve the report, possibly damaging an environment significantly, or preserving it and looking for a new and more convenient site.

There could've been two harsh outcomes He could be harshly judged by the company for not taking up such a profitable site, maybe even losing his position, or he can approve the report, while facing the consequence and guilt of damaging a community and environment.

Nuclear energy is one of the ethical dilemmas engineers have to encounter. It is a clean, efficient source of energy, but it is also a tremendous source of radioactive waste that takes thousands of years to decay. Improper storage or disposal would spell environmental degradation and a public health hazard, but the shutdown of nuclear facilities would cause a rise in fossil fuel use and worsen climate change. The catch-all is energy needs, nature preservation, and long-term security all in one. Good management incorporating adherence to strict regulations and advanced containment mechanisms can make nuclear power a force for sustainable development.

The engineers and the company had to decide how much safety testing, warnings, and clear instructions to give drivers.

As Earth's climate continues to deteriorate, people are trying to slow the advancement of climate change. One of the ways they can do this is geoengineering - engineering the Earth's climate to change global warming. If this were to happen, governments would have to consider where these technologies would be implemented and who gets the side effects of them. While it could have many positive side effects, it would also create floods in some places, droughts in others, and possibly acid rain. This raises the ethical question of if it is more important to save the suffering of a few people (because of the consequences of geoengineering) or continue to let climate change destroy our planet.

This dilemma shows the conflict between protecting public safety and reducing corporate costs.

Engineers at Morton Thiokol, the contractor for the shuttle’s solid rocket boosters, had concerns about the O-ring seals. They knew cold temperatures could make the O-rings brittle, increasing the risk of failure, on the night before the launch Florida temperatures were forecast to drop below freezing. They were recommended to delay the launch but the engineers wanting to avoid conflict with NASA's management still decided to let it launch. On the day of the launch one of the two solid rocket boosters started leaking and ignited the main liquid fuel tank. The dilemma was that the engineers had to weigh out the options of whether to tell NASA's management that they had to delay the launch or public safety. Choosing public safety would have saved those astronauts lives.

When engineers are working on these kinds of things, they have to make sure they've done everything right and tested the equipment as well before people's lives get put at stake.
