I began my educational journey at Terrace Elementary in Houston, Texas. My love for learning started in kindergarten and grew stronger throughout my school years. As a young student, I was always eager to learn new things and share what I learned with my classmates. I was raised in classrooms where I was encouraged to try my best and take on new challenges. I made sure my work was always done before the due date and cared deeply about my grades and overall success. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a teacher so I could help and invest in others the same way my teachers did for me!

Hands on Experience in a Classroom

During my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to intern in a kindergarten classroom. I spent my afternoons walking around the classroom helping students with their assignments, and later on, I got to work with them more one-on-one. I pulled small groups to give extra instruction and practice on concepts they were struggling with. This allowed me to really see how each student learned differently. I also got to grade assignments and tests, as well as administer assessments to track how much growth students had made since the beginning of the year. This experience really showed me how much I love teaching and helped me see the kind of teacher I want to become!

My passion is to teach young students and get them excited to learn new things. I want my classroom to be a safe space where they can try new things and work through tough challenges without fear of making mistakes. I will strive to make every student I have feel comfortable and understood when they are in my class. I believe strong relationships are the key to building confidence and creating a positive learning environment. My goal is to teach kindergarten and help students with the basic building blocks that will set them up for success throughout their educational journey!
