Attending a funeral usually involves a stir of emotions as the feeling of losing someone has a huge impact on our lives. Usually during a funeral, loved ones come to grieve and have a final look at the body of their dearly departed. The attendance of a funeral is important because you are there to reflect on your feelings, to feel out how others are reacting and how you can be comforting to them, and by just being present to celebrate the life of the individual. You should prioritize this event for it is a time to be present in the moment and a time to cherish memories. Down below is a image that sets the scene of how the burial of the body may look.

Courbet, Gustave A Burial at Ornans, 1849-1850, oil on canvas, Musée d’Orsay, Paris, France.

Losing a loved one can really cause a set back in someone’s life. It is hard to know exactly how to comfort someone in this situation, especially if you have never experienced this sort of thing. There are several effective ways that you can support someone who is going through a grieving stage. “By being a good listener, accepting the way one grieves, accepting their mood swings, not giving to much advice, avoiding the reasons for their lose, staying connected and available, helping out with particular tasks, and offering words that you know will touch their heart” (2019 Funeralwise, LLC.), you can be a great shoulder to cry on during this tough time. A loss may result in a long term effect on one’s attitude, but with proper help you can steer them towards the light. Below is a link that will further the steps of how to be present when trying to support someone who is experiencing a lose.

How do most countries or states take charge with this topic? How is global mourning made known?

There is no exact way on how to deal with a loss. Government officials have made known days in which we take time to remember those who have gone before us. Countries such as the United Kingdom honor the deceased on a day known as Remembrance Day, where people come together to mourn and reflect upon the memories of the dead. General attorneys from the state of Iowa took into account that the death of U.S. Senator John Culver would have a great effect on many who idolized him. We celebrate the special days in which we have now dedicated to all of those who have sadly passed away. These days have become national holidays because of the amount of recognition they have gotten. This ties into the idea that mourning is represented across the globe. On days such as Veterans Day, Día de los Muertos, Memorial Day, and many more, we remember our loved ones and those who have died before us. It is on those special days that we can globally celebrate the loss of those individuals. Below is an article that lists days in which we mourn our losses, so we may now be aware of when these days come around.

There are so many organizations and people that are able to give those with a low-income the financial support they need. What this means is that there are many places that offer help and support to those who can not afford pricey therapy sessions. Down below is a website that talks about a local association that offers therapeutic support to those who cannot afford a therapist. This is just one organization that happens to be located in Santa Clara, but there are many are actually all over the place. The support you need is right around the corner, you just have to open your eyes to the idea of seeking help from those around you.

How can I help a teen deal with grief? How can I be available as a friend trying to give my support?

Teens are very fragile. As teens we are consistently experiencing growth and developments in our minds and bodies. This means we can be sensitive at times, and even the smallest thing can have a big impact on us. When it comes to dealing with grief, the number one thing that others must keep in mind is the idea of being open-minded and patient with teens. It is not uncommon for someone of this age to want to spent time with themselves, as they use this time to reflect on how they are felling. Teen are emotional so it should not come as a shock if one needs to cry things out. Letting the idea of grieving sink in is honestly pretty important. Talking things out can also be nice when wanting to just express how you are feeling. This is why in 2019, it is highly recommended that teens seek help from a professional adult when grieving. Whether this be a guidance counselor at school or going to a therapist, counseling is one of the best sources of help for teens. Below is a website that talks about how teens cope, and how you can be the most helpful during their grieving process.
