This is important because it is gonna change their lives by working a job for the city and finding out new things they didn't know

(Page 15) "I need to see the generator," Doon said. "I have ideas about it."

This is important because Doon wants to try and fix the generator so the lights stop going out for a long time and if the lights go out he wants the generator to turn the lights back on so they can see.

(Page 20) " Don't you dare laugh at me," he said to Lina. I did better than you!

This is important because they laughed at him and now he doesn't want none of them to his friends anymore from them laughing at him when he fell off of the light pole.

(page 71 ish) "Granny," said Lina, suddenly uneasy. "Where's the baby?"

This was important because Granny didn't watch the baby. Lina had to look for the baby but the lights turned off when she was out looking for the baby. So she couldn't find the baby till the lights came back on.

(page 81) "She was marching up the street by herself," he said.

This is important because the Guy seen where Poppy went. The Guy told Lina where Poppy went so it changed the story by Lina finding Poppy and not telling Granny she got out and was going around the city by herself.

(Page 114) "Its the bug boy!"

They call Doon the bug boy because he finds bugs very interesting and cool. Doon loves learning about bugs. People found out Doon likes bugs then he got the nickname "the bug boy."

(Page 121) "Doon I found something. I want to show it to you."

This was important because it was instructions for getting out of Ember so it changed the plot of them trying to find the way out of Ember.

(Page 122) "Your grandmother's in her bedroom," Mrs, Murdo said.

This was important because it changed Lina's life. It changed Lina's life because Lina's grandmother passed away a few days after she got very sick.

(Page 126) "It must be!" Lina cried. I know it is! It's the door that leads out of Ember."

This is important because it is gonna change the lot of them trying to open the door to see what's behind it and to try to leave Ember.

(Page 145) "Lizzie, something happened," Lina said. "My grandmother died."

This s important because it is showing us that Lizzie don't care about others and don't wanna help others. Lina wanted to see if she could get some groceries for her but she said "to bad." So Lina hade to find a way to get food and drinks.

(page 183) "Who'll go first?" said Doon. "You can," Lina said getting to her feet and stepping away.

This is important because it is gonna change the plot from being above ground to underground for a while. It is showing us that Lina was scared to go down the ladder first. So that shows Lina was more scared then Doon was.

(Page 194) Enough for everyone, I suppose, said Doon. Everybody could share the boat and except Ember.

This was important because Doon and Lina could tell people trey could except Ember with them. It also is important because it is showing there is more then one boat like they though they where. This could change the plot for everyone leaving Ember.

(Page 269) "We were underground," she said. "Not just the pipework everything!"

This is important because it is showing that the pot use to be underground and now its above ground. This is also important because Lina and Doon were shocked they were underground for years and didn't even know.
