The air is still, the dust must settle down, A new resolve across the field and town. The Pakhwada starts, a call across the land, A challenge taken by the common hand.

For fifteen days, the focus sharp and bright, To push the darkness back and bring the light. The Swachh Bharat Mission, strong and true, Demands the pledge from me and also you.

We trade the comfort of the casual glance, For active duty in this urgent trance. The doctor, teacher, plumber—all agree, To clear the plastic and to plant the tree.

From office desks where old files gather dust, To sacred spaces built on faith and trust, We join the Shramdaan, a communal might, To make our surroundings clean, and keep them right.

The bin is split, the waste is pulled apart, A new beginning rooted in the heart. No act is small, no task too low or slight, To bring the sparkle back, and make things bright.

So let the fortnight end, the effort cease, But let the habit bring a lasting peace. For cleanliness is not a hurried quest, But a new way of living, at its best
