Ten days before I came Abe Lincoln asked for 10's of thousands of volunteers to join the Union Gray and now people were coming from every were. Sure there are lots of things I could do as a women to help out. But all of them would have me stuck on the side lines. I want to do something big something more. I then went back to Canada and meet Linus Seeyle who I then married and we went back to the U.S and settled down to raise a family.The Civil war shaped my life challenging me to take risks and to always play a bigger part. I'm proud that I participated in the war and it changed my life.
