         <description><![CDATA[<div>The signing of the Treaty of Paris and ultimate conclusion of the French and Indian war served as a colonial success. This tempered colonial disdain towards Britain, but underlying discontent remained<br><br>Evidence<br>&nbsp;- Fighting the French and natives proved extremely costly for Britain. They could not pursue colonial conflict with the military expenses they exhausted on the french. Because of this, they recognized the colonies as an official independent nation.<br>- The French gave up Canada (in addition to many other lands) as a result of the Treaty. This relieved the colonies of fear of French invasion. This served as another colonial success.</div>]]></description>
