In the story Rikki-Tikki risks the family life with Nagaina's last egg. If Nagainia were to not care about her egg Rikki’s family would most likely be dead. Also in the story Rikki kills all the baby snakes. When they didn’t do anything. They could’ve been nice. A hero is a person who is noble and courageous. Looking at Rikki’s action that it is clear that he is not a hero.

I am not saying he didn’t do any good by saving the family, but he should not be considered a hero based off these few things he did in the story. For starters, Rikki-Tikki went up to the muskrat and said “..tell me or I will bite you!”  First off, the main part of being a hero is to be courageous or noble, and by threatening the musk rat for only a tiny bit of information is not being either of the qualities. Also in the story Rikki killed Nagaina’s baby. There was really no point in killing them, because he could’ve raised them to be good, so they wouldn’t have a bad influence from Nagaina. Or, maybe one of the babies could have been different and would be no harm to Rikki and the family. In the story Rikki, killed Nag and Nagaina because they were a threat to the family, So he knew he must protect them. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi killed Nagaina in her own home and like it said in the story “how  old or wise a mongoose is, not many go into the snake’s home”.  Also Rikki-tikki overcame his fear of Nag towards the middle of the story. When Rikki-Tikki was introduced to Nag, the antagonist of the story, At first he was very scared like many other characters in the story. But eventually he realized. what his purpose was, to fight of snakes.

From the evidence in the story, I beileve Rikki-tikki is not a hero. I think he's not a hero because he killed nagaina's baby snakes. He was killing babies that didn't even do anything. That is like killing a child whose dad was a bad person. People that say he is brave would probably say that because he killed a snake. It wasn't a big deal to him. He said “ why is everyone fussing, 
I killed the snake, that's all” he said it as if it was no big deal. An other reason is because It's in a mongooses nature to kill snakes. For those reasons i believe Rikki-tikki is not a hero. A hero is a person that does something even if he is scared. Rikki-tikki was never scared so i think he's not a hero.

R) Rikki saved the whole family so the was definitely a noble deed. To save the family he has to be brave and courageous, and he was.

E) Also going into Nagania's hole he definitely needs to be a brave mongoose. Not many mongooses go into a cobras hole because it's very dangerous.

R)That piece of evidence shows that he is a special mongoose. Rikki is a special mongoose, is Brave , couragous,

In the story Rikki-Tikki he risked his life many time to save his family. 

Rikki going into the hole with nagaina was very dangerous and he could have easily died in there, when he was fighting karat he could have died. So that proves that he risks his life to save the family that cares for him and that is pretty brave. 

He killed the baby snakes because for all we know they could turn out like nag and nagaina and there is like 30 of them.

The baby snakes could have turned out like there parents and could have invaded the yard and Rikki-TIkki would have very little chance against 30 nags and nagainias.

A hero is a person who is noble and courageous Looking at Rikki-Tikki’s actions it is clear.
