The rule of Odds- An odd number of objects is usually much more appealing than an even amount.  You can also group objects into odd number sections.
Space- Try to make sure that objects fit perfectly on your paper (if you really want).  Instead of thinking about how you can fit all of your objects in your artwork, think about how you can have your objects fill in the space.
Leading Lines- The implied lines in your composition that lead the viewers eye around your work of art.  In stiil life, most of the leading lines come from the outer edges of your objects.  As artists, it is important that we are aware of where the leading lines in a piece are placing the viewers focus.
