Time period :14th century.
Kind of source: written
Where is thi s source from : textbook
What are the area revealed : Economic connections
The goods obtained from trade include red gold, blue satin, cotton prints Chu porcelain, iron cauldrons [big cooking pots ] and similar items .Neither fine products nor rare objects come from here. All are obtained from trade with Quanzhou [a city in fujjian, china] traders. There are also pirates who launch frequent attacks on passing ships returning to China with goods. Sometimes the ships are fortunate enough to escape. Otherwise the crew are killed and the merchandise quickly taken from them...In recent years, the Xian people [people of Saim] came with 70-odd junks and raided Dan Ma Xi and attacked the city moat. The town resisted for a month, closing the gates and defending itself. The Xian people dared not assault the town...
inference: This source tells me that Singapore traded with China before 1819.
evidence:The evidence tells that "All are obtained from trade with Quanzhou.

dear diary,
today i had history lesson and the teacher told us that we were going to do a project about Singapore before 1819.firstly i found that people before 1819 used boats as a way of transport and when they were in port they stopped there to trade, as people before 1819 used to be traders and that's what they did for their living.
I also found out that Singapore trading was a very good as, they traded with many countries like China and India as i searched in the internet .i am so Thank full that we have buses ,trains and taxis to travel with and not have to travel with boat from one place to another which will take a longer time than in buses ,train or in taxis . dear diary that's all for today I will tell you more about Singapore before 1819 next time.bye !
