To start our second meeting, we discussed the character’s development throughout the chapters.
We were able to discuss how we thought the characters developed through our own perspectives.
Next, we talked about how the setting helped contribute to the conflicts that arose.
We came to the conclusion that it impacted the character’s thought process.
Next, we spoke about how the conflicts arose.
We spoke about the rising tensions between the humans and the Martians.

- The pace of the book helped to shape my perspective. It helped me to engage with the story and appreciate the different storylines.

- The conflicts show that the characters act differently towards each other. Some act more hostile and others start to avoid other characters.

- The story will continue to progress towards more conflicts between the two groups. I think eventually they will reach a solution but for now it will remain a hostile environment.

Our third meeting, started with our view on the pace of the story and how it impacts how we see the development of the characters.
We also discussed how the characters act towards each other.
Overall, our third meeting went well. We discussed how the pace of the story impacted the development of the characters and how the characters act towards each other.
We were successful in achieving our agenda. We sufficiently talked about every topic in our agenda.
Some new understanding we gained from this reading was the relationship of the characters with each other.
We feel that our meetings have been effective.

- “The Martian Chronicles” shows how people can turn on each other very quickly no matter the setting or situation. It also helps to reflect on human’s relationship with other species and how it can impact the world.

- The relationships of the characters changed throughout the story. After all the conflicts, they were able to reconcile and try to live in harmony with the Martians after they see the beauty of their lifestyle.

- The characters change from the beginning of the book because they are able to appreciate the Martian lifestyle instead of being in conflict with them.

To start our forth meeting, we discussed our major takeaways from the book.
We also discussed how the human and Martian’s relationships with each other change after the competition is concluded.
Overall, our fourth meeting went well. We discussed the humans relationships with each other and the plot’s development throughout the book.
We were successful in achieving our agenda today. We talked about all of the topics.
Some new understanding we gained was the character’s development throughout the story.
We could have made our meetings more effective by discussing our topics more in depth.

- The rocket lands in April of 2000, the crew landed in what looks like a small American town.
- They realize it is a trap by the Martians.
- They try to escape but it is too late.
- All 16 crew members end up dying.
- It is revealed that it ended up being a Martian trap.

- From the opening chapters, the book will continue with the humans and Martians fighting over Mars.

- The Martians played the largest roles in these chapters. By killing the crew members, they established the war against the humans.
