Five Pillars Of Islam

• Shahada (Faith):
  The declaration of faith — “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.” This affirms monotheism and Muhammad’s role as the final prophet.

• Salah (Prayer):
  Muslims are required to pray five times a day at prescribed times. These prayers are a direct link between the worshipper and Allah.

• Zakat (Charity):
  A form of almsgiving — Muslims must give a portion (usually 2.5%) of their savings to help the poor and needy, purifying their wealth.

• Sawm (Fasting):
  During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset — abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs — to develop self-discipline and spiritual growth.

• Hajj (Pilgrimage):
  Muslims who are physically and financially able must perform the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their lifetime. It occurs annually during the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah.

The Importance Of Living The Pillars Of Islam

• Strengthening Faith and Connection with Allah:
  The pillars, especially Shahada (faith) and Salah (prayer), help Muslims maintain a constant spiritual connection with Allah, reinforcing belief and devotion.

• Spiritual and Moral Discipline:
  Practices like Sawm (fasting) and Zakat (charity) encourage self-control, patience, humility, and empathy — shaping strong moral character and spiritual growth.

• Promoting Social Responsibility:
  Through Zakat, wealth is redistributed to support the poor and reduce inequality, promoting justice and compassion in society.

Six Pillars of Faith

• Belief in Allah (God)

Muslims believe in one, all-powerful, and merciful God, Allah — the creator and sustainer of everything. He has no partners, children, or equals.

• Belief in the Angels

Muslims believe in angels created by Allah from light. They do not have free will and always obey Allah. Each angel has specific duties — for example, Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) delivered revelations to the prophets.

• Belief in the Holy Books

Muslims believe in the divine scriptures revealed to various prophets

challenges.

Manners in Seeking Knowledge

1. Purity of Intention

• Sincerity (Ikhlas):

  Seek knowledge solely for Allah's pleasure, not for personal gain, fame, or argumentation. 

• Humility:

  Adopt a humble mindset, recognizing that true knowledge is a gift from Allah, and that arrogance is a barrier to it. 

2. Action and Behavior

• Act Upon Knowledge: Knowledge without action is considered a proof against a person, so strive to apply what you learn in your daily life. 

• Patience: Be patient and tolerant, as acquiring knowledge is a gradual and challenging process that requires endurance. 

• Make Du'a: Constantly ask Allah for beneficial knowledge and understanding. 

3. Good Etiquette (Adab)

• Good Manners Towards Teachers: Show respect to teachers, as it is a fundamental aspect of learning. 

• Ask Questions Properly: Inquire about matters you don't understand, but do so in a polite and good manner. 

• Listen Attentively: Remain quiet and listen attentively to explanations and teachings. 

• Choose Good Companions: Surround yourself with companions who encourage righteous deeds and support your learning journey. 

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

وَمَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَلْتَمِسُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَهَّلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَمَا اجْتَمَعَ قَوْمٌ فِي بَيْتٍ مِنْ بُيُوتِ اللَّهِ يَتْلُونَ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَيَتَدَارَسُونَهُ بَيْنَهُمْ إِلاَّ نَزَلَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّكِينَةُ وَغَشِيَتْهُمُ الرَّحْمَةُ وَحَفَّتْهُمُ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ وَذَكَرَهُمُ اللَّهُ فِيمَنْ عِنْدَهُ

Whoever travels a path in search of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. People do not gather in the houses of Allah, reciting the book of Allah and studying it together, but that tranquility will descend upon them, mercy will cover them, angels will surround them, and Allah will mention them to those near him.

Muslims believe that Allah sent prophets to guide humanity. These include Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them). Muhammad is the final prophet.

• Belief in the Day of Judgment

Muslims believe in a final Day of Judgment, when everyone will be resurrected and held accountable for their deeds. Based on this judgment, they will enter Paradise or Hell.

• Belief in Qadar (Divine Decree or Predestination)

Muslims believe that Allah has knowledge and control over everything — past, present, and future. Everything happens by His will, but humans still have free will to choose right or wrong.

Importance Of Living The Six Pillars Of Faith

• Strengthens Faith in Unseen Realities

Belief in the angels and the unseen world helps Muslims accept that not everything is visible or understandable, fostering humility and trust in Allah’s plan.

• Teaches Trust in Allah’s Wisdom and Plan (Qadar)

Belief in Divine Decree (Qadar) helps Muslims stay patient in hardships and thankful in blessings, knowing that everything happens for a reason under Allah’s wisdom.

• Creates Inner Peace and Emotional Stability

By believing in Allah’s mercy, justice, and plan, Muslims develop inner peace, hope, and the strength to face life’s

Ihsan can be understood through three interconnected meanings: 

1. Worship Allah as if you see Him:

   This emphasises a deep, intimate, and constant awareness of Allah's presence, fostering awe, hope, and sincere devotion. 

2. Treat others with kindness and generosity:

   This involves being gracious and beneficial to all of creation, including family, the poor, and the needy, showing compassion and spreading goodness. 

3. Strive for perfection in actions:

   This means performing every task, whether it's an act of worship, a daily duty, or an interaction, with the utmost excellence, skill, and beauty. 

   
   

Ihsan's Place in Faith 

• A Higher Rank:

  Ihsan is considered the third and highest rank of religious devotion, following Islam (submission) and Iman (faith). 

• Internal and External Manifestation:

  Ihsan is the outward manifestation of inner faith (Iman) and self-purification (Tazkia), translating spiritual conviction into beautiful deeds and noble conduct.

   

Applying Ihsan in Life 

• Daily Life:

  Strive for excellence in every task, whether it's work, studying, or interacting with family members.

• Societal Responsibility:

  Be a source of benefit and goodness, contributing positively to society, which aligns with the concept of muhsineen (those who perfect society).

• Consistency:

  Maintain Ihsan regardless of socioeconomic status or life circumstances, showing it even in difficult times
