Because parents are the ones that teach children how to truly behave, children owe their parents for all of the advice that parents offer. In the poem entitled "Girl" by Jamaica Kincaid, Kincaid writes, "this is how you sweep a whole house; this is how you sweep a yard; this is how you smile to someone you don’t like too much." This is an example of how a parent offers a child advise for how to behave at home and around others. The poem is proof that parents, regardless of what we wish to believe, are always trying to do what they think is best for their children, even if the child views it as incorrect.

When people fall in love, they are seeking to find happiness in thier relationship. In the poem called "O.C.D" written by Niel Hillborn it states that, " when she said she loved me, her mouth would curl up at the edges." This mean that she found and gave him happiness. This proves that both of them gave all of their love and found happiness with each other by there side. Therefore, people seek to find happiness in their relationship when they are in love.

When people are in a relationship, they tend to communicate with each other, to keep it stable. Communication is a main part, in which keeps a relationship alive, without communication, it is impossible to understand the other person. In the poem titled, "O.C.D," by Neil Hilborn, it states,"Last week she started sleeping at her mother's place. She told me that she shouldn't have let me get so attached to her, that this whole thing was a mistake but..." This means that she kept her problems to herself, which caused the relationship to break. This proves that communication is a main key for keeping a stable relationship because it shows that miscommunication can bring in problems in which can cause the relationship to weaken. Many people believe that being committed to the relationship keeps it stable. However, the truth is that communication is the main key in which helps the relationship stay alive.

In "Girl" by the Jamaica Kenkaid writes "this is how to sew on a button; this is how how to make a hem coming down and so to provent yourself from looking like the slut I know you are so bent on becoming". This means woman are expected to sew. This proves that girls have high expectations and the daughter has to follow them because she is a girl. This also states that girls have to sew and do other kind of expectations that a guy doesnt have to do.

In the text O.C.D. by Niel Hilborn the author states, "How can it be a mistake that I didn't have to wsh my hands after I touched her?" This means that he is so comfortable with her that he has no need in washing his hands. This proves that people look for comfort in love because it shows that he finds comfort in being with her, which overcomes a bit of his O.C.D. Many people believe that people seek to get a committed relationship. However the truth is that in order to have a committed relationship one would need to have comfort.

In "O.C.D" by Niel Hilborn, he writes, " I asked her out six times in thirty seconds." The statement is saying that even from the beginning he has always tried. This proves that he fell in love with her from the moment he saw her, and knew it was her that he'd try and do everything for. Because of him trying so hard, she left; she realized that he had gotten too attatched and felt the need to stop loving him, and leave. This is similar to other people because they think they find what they are looking for, but end up hurt.

In the poem "Girl" by Jamaica Kincaid it states, "On Sunday try to walk like a lady and not like the slut you are so bent on becoming." This shows that the mother has high expectations for her daughter because she has to walk like a proper and educated women. In The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls whe writes "what do i tell people about my parents?" The mother responds with "just tell them the truth." In O.C.D. by Neil Hilborn he states,"She told me that she shouldn't have let me get so attached to her, that this whole thing was a mistake, but..." This conveys that if the other person didn't want a commitment or try to make it work, what is the point of him going after her?

Love, wether you believe in it or not, the fact that it can help people with mental disorders or not can not be denied. An example of this would be from the poem "O.C.D" by Neil Hilborn the author states, "How can it be a mistake that I don't have to wash my hands after i touched her ?" This powerful quote from an amazing poem shows how love can help people heal or become better people. This quote bring us inside the mind of a person who suffers from O.C.D and hoe love has helped them with their disorder, he explains to us how having someone to love has helped him rid of some of his "habits" that he can not control. He no longer washes his hands after touching her, without knowing it she has helped him. Love can not only heal a soul, fill you with joy, make you feel warm inside but can also heal the mind, I'm not saying that only people with O.C.D are the ones who need love, everyone needs love, everyone needs some one and love can just as equally help them.

In the text "Girl" by Jamaica Kincaid, Kincaid writes, " Wash the white clothes on Monday and put them on the stone heap wash the color clothes on Tuesday and put them on the clothesline to dry." This means that women are expected to wash cloth on Monday and Tuesday to be known as a women. This proves that women must be able to learn on how to clean to be a good wife and they have high expectations for their children to be similar like them.

In the poem "O.C.D" by Neil hilborn, it states, "she loved that I had to kiss her goodbye sixteen times or twenty-four times if it was Wednesday." This means that she loved him even though his disorder would get the best of him. This proves that she made him happy because she was able to understand who he was as a person. In the poem it aslo mentions, "she loved that it took me forever to walk home because there are lots of cracks on our sidewalks." This is basically saying that she didn't care about his obsessions, as long as they were happy. People want happiness and someone who can understand them, thats what they seek in love

All together teens do owe something to their parent which is respect and acceptance.

When people seek love, they are looking for someone who shares the same feelings as them. Because love is love, I believe that one way or another, the partners will find similar interests (if not found already), passion, and happiness in their relationship. If not found before, their love can grow stronger as their relationship grows as well. In the poem "OCD" written by Neil Hilborn, he writes, "...I spent more time organizing my meak by color than I did eating, or fucking talking to her...But she loved it." This means that his condition affected his relationship but she still understood and loved him. This proves that the author loved the girl for accepting and returning love, which made their love even more powerful. Hilborn also writes, "I asked her out six times in thirty seconds. She said yes after the third one, but none of them felt right, so I had to keep going..." This means that the girl knew about his condition, and accepted him. This proves that they both shared the same feelings for eachother, which made him love the girl even more.

But every book I picked up had a few sentances which didnt word that might as well been in Chinese".This
proves that being literate makes you sound educated.

When people want to love or want to be loved, the majority will seek happiness for both themselves and their partner. The text "O.C.D." by Neil Hilborn states that, "...when she said she loved me, her mouth would curl up at the edges". The text also says, "...I can't go out and find someone new because I always think of her." This means that the girl is happy with him because she smiles when telling him that she loves him. The guy was also happy with her because he says he can't go out and simply find a new person because he's always thinking about his first love. This proves that the pair was happy with one another.

When parents place high expectations for their children, the children will obey their parents. In "Girl" by Jamacia Kincaid, Kincaid writes "Dont sing benna in sunday school [said the mother] but i dont sing benna on sundays at all and never in sunday school." This means that the daughter obeyed her mothers rules/expectations and does not sing benna. This proves that when parents place high expectations for children, they will obey. Kincaid also writes "[the mother says] this is how you hem a dress when you see the hem comming down and so to prevent yourself from looking like the slut I know you are so bent on becoming." This means that the mother is showing her how to fix/sew her dress so that she doesn't look inappropriate. This proves that when parents place high expectations on children, it is so that the children don't rebel and instead obey.
