Wonder?
The Prambanan Temple reflects the religious practices of the early people in Indonesia. Through the architectural wonder’s complex parts and applied techniques, it is able to showcase its indigenous influences - from its purpose and origin. The Prambanan Temple is unique of its kind, it has not shown any foreign influences but only indigenous influences. It is part of Dharmic Architecture, which is architecture classified under religion, particularly Hinduism and Buddhism in Indonesia. The Prambanan Temple was able to reflect this by the complexity of it, it is composed of not only one building but multiple. In fact, it is composed of one central temple and five others, totaling six. Its insides are made up of wood carving walls showcasing Indonesia’s history through epics. The walls and pathways in the Prambanan temple are really thought of. Because of Prambanan Temple’s complex components, it was able to showcase its indigenous influences from the religion of Hinduism and Buddhism. Thus, what makes it an architectural wonder is how well these complex components go together and provide a one of a kind experience to the people in Indonesia and foreign visitors. 

2. What are its commonalities and differences to the Philippine architecture?
As I analyzed the characteristics of Dharmic Architecture in the Prambanan Temple to the Philippine Architecture, I realized that the two are full of similarities and differences. However, the significant ones that I am most interested in are the origin or influences of each architecture. Both the Philippines and Dharmic Architecture showcase the history of their own countries. For instance, the Philippines Baroque Church in Paoay is a product of the colonialism of the Spanish, which is a significant part of the country’s history. The Dharmic architecture in the Prambanan Temple, on the other hand, showcases the history of how religion evolved and became an essential part of Indonesia’s identity. 

The differences between the two architectures are their origin or influences. Philippine architecture is influenced by Western architecture. This is shown in the type of architecture applied in the Church in Paoay - Baroque Architecture. Although most of the Philippines ’ architecture is influenced by colonialism, it did not fail to show its “Filipino-ness”. In contrast to the architecture of Prambanan Temple, the Dharmic architecture did not have any foreign influences since Dharmic architecture focuses on the religion in Indonesia alone.

3. What do you feel about this activity?
I feel delighted because drawing and painting are my talents at the same time hobby. Since I was little, I was fond of drawing and creating designs that developed my artistic skills. I also feel buoyant to have learned the different kinds of architectural wonders in Southeast Asian countries.

4. What realizations did you have after finishing the activity?
Throughout this activity, I realized that Southeast Asia has so many architectural wonders that will leave anyone in awe. It has foreign and indigenous influences that are reflected in the design of artwork and in the making of a craft or artifact. Additionally, I have also realized that being passionate and patient is essential in this task. However, the exhaustion that I'm going to go through is all worth it because I had a positive mindset that I am going to enjoy the activity and make my artwork wonderful. Being passionate and patient helped me in making my artwork. Having a passion for making the artwork taught me that I can be more than I think I can. It drives me to push limits at the same time, patience taught me that creative ideas do not come immediately; it takes time. Hence, I was able to make my artwork more creative and divergent. Indeed, this task taught me a lot of values to overcome the challenges that I am going to face.

The Gardens by the bay Thailand is both reflected by foreign and indigenous influences. It is reflected by foreign influences because they  have a special place in Singaporean culture and It is heavily influenced  by the theme planet and plants. The garden captures essence  in Singapore and nature in the country. The gardens by the bay in Singapore have a lot of contribution in the country and one of the standout features.

2. What are its commonalities and differences to the Philippine architecture? 
The commonalities and the differences of the Gardens by the bay in Singapore and in the Philippines is first both architectural art have unique styles and also have very nice designs and ideas. Both also have deep meaning on the architectures which makes it more interesting because of its history and how it is made. And both are made with hard work and a lot of time just to make such beautiful architectures. And the difference of it is first the Garden by the bay is much bigger than some of our architecture even though we also have a lot of huge architecture it is still much bigger than ours. Naming that it has almost 163,00 plants of more than 200 species and varieties  and 1010 hectare. The second difference is that here in the Philippines most of our architecture reflects our historical and cultural traditions such as Bahay kubo. While some of them  in other countries like Singapore they focus more on modern architectures.

3. What do you feel about this activity?
The feeling in doing this activity is very good because I was able to learn new arts to make new ideas in doing the painting. It also helps you to develop more your ideas in painting and to improve the way you design it. Yes it is tiring to make and stressful because you want your paint to come up nicely but at the same time it helps you to widen your patience in doing this art.

4. What realizations did you have after finishing the activity? 
  The realization that it makes is that you realize you just  need to enjoy doing your painting to have a good outcome. And that you should not be stressed because the activity is made to make you happy and at the same time learn. To be honest it is not the outcome that I wanted but it also satisfied me because I made it with a smile on my face and that I am happy in doing the task.

-  The indigenous influences reflected on my architectural wonder is the Cau Vang. Cau Vang is known as the Golden Bridge in Central Vietnam. The curved bridge is held by two giant hands which evokes the image of golden
strip being pulled by the hands of God. Meanwhile, the foreign influences reflected on my architectural wonder is the Carmen Bridge. To mix them up, I designed my work by drawing a bridge with a red massive arch from the foreign influence together with the giant hand at the side that is part of the indigenous influence. 

- The commonalities of my work to the Philippine architecture is the arches and the bridge itself. The difference is that my work has the giant hands while in the Philippine architecture has none. And also, in my work, there are beliefs and assigned culture of it because of the giant hands while in the Philippine architecture, is just made for the people to pass through

I combined the design of Cau Vang with the Philippine’s Marcelo Fernan Bridge. You can see in my painting the same God’s hands, the bridge, mountains andxcxs I added is the cable-stayed esign the Marcelo Fernan Bridge to the painting. 

The commonalities in the Cau Vang and Philippine structures like the Marcelo Fernan Bridge is the bridge. Both of the structures are bridges and it is strong. Meanwhile, the difference is that the Cau Vang has giant hands but the Philippine structure doesn’t. Even so, both countries have unique and beautiful structures.

3. What do you feel about this activity?

I enjoyed making this painting even if it was a little hard. It was so fun combining the designs of my chosen structures, the Cau Vang and Marcelo Fernan Bridge. I was having a hard time painting the small details but I did it. It was very challenging and interesting. 

I realized that every country has its own unique and beautiful structure/s. That the southeast asian countries are really artistic. Like Vietnam, it has the famous Cau Vang. The structures have their different meanings and resemblance. I also learned that I need to include and notice the small details. I realized the importance of every design and detail. I realized the importance of the art elements. Lastly, I realized that even if painting is hard, it can still be enjoyable and fun.
