The Little Prince by Antoine De Saint-Exupéry, is a magnificent book that includes life-lessons that are really important to us.

Here are my favorites lessons that I have learned not only from the Little Prince, but also from other characters that are mentioned in the book.

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” - The Little Prince

A very valuable lesson can be learned from this particular quote. It is important to note that this quote is a very known quote from the book.

The lesson that can be learned here is only with an open heart which is caring and supportive you can see the right and good things, and the eye cannot always see the truth.

‘Where are the people?’ resumed the little prince at last. ‘It’s a little lonely in the desert…’ ‘It is lonely when you’re among people, too,’ said the snake.

This quote was said when the Little Prince arrived in the desert, and met the snake. The Little Prince is a very curious individual so as he always does he asked a question; ‘Where are the people?’

From this quote we learn that even when you are surrounded by people that are missing their own business walking up and down the street, driving their cars and buying a coffee, even though there are so many people around you, they are all strangers. So in the desert, when no human being is around you you feel exactly the same as if you were sitting down in a busy city.

A lesson I have learned in The Little Prince is that we have to notice the most essential things that might be invisible to the eye. Receiving a flower from a special person is more meaningful, than finding a flower, and taking care of it makes it a million times more special than any other flower. The book depicts a feeling of being different and misunderstood. This is what made the book special to me.

He regrets leaving his rose with only four thorns to protect herself. This teaches us that nothing lasts forever.

"my flower is ephemeral," the little prince said to himself, "and she has only four thorns to defend herself against the world!

In this line, we see that we "have to look with the heart," which does not make sense, but it means that we have to look deeper and the uniqueness of one single thing.

"And yet, what they are looking for could
be found in a single rose or a little water."
"yes indeed.

A lesson I learned from the little prince is that things and people that mean the most in life can only be seen with the heart. The fox shares a secret with the little prince: "It is only with the heart that one can see directly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.".

The fox also says: "One only understands the thing that one tames." here, the fox is telling the little prince why he loves his rose so much. The time that you take caring and loving someone or something makes it significant and special to you, even if there are thousands of that thing, YOUR rose or YOUR person will always be special to YOU, no matter how many people and things there are in the world.

The little prince has changed the way people, including myself, see the world, and I will forever cherish the important lessons this amazing, magnificent book has taught me and many others.
