I'm currently taking a certain math course (calculus and linear algebra) in college and I feel like a complete idiot. I studied a few weeks in advance for the midterm exam and I did very poorly. I started to convince myself that I was a complete idiot. I've tried taking notes, doing MANY practice questions or just listening to lectures but I feel like nothing is working for me. Whenever my mind is faced with math, it just freezes and exhausts. I want to be better but I feel like I put too much energy into doing it just to achieve minimal results that discourages me. I was never really good at math. What should I do? Maybe I'm just an idiot, but maybe there's a better way to learn math?
