Motivation: enthusiasm for doing something.
Motivation to read: it can be defined as the likelihood of engaging in reading or choosing to read (Gambrell, 2009, 2011).
Engagement: the process of encouraging people to be interested in something.
Task: it is aduty, job, chore, stint, assignment mean a piece of work to be done.
*Definitions were taken from the text ("Seven Rules of Engagement"), and from Cambridge and Merriam-Webster dictionaries.
----------
✦The text selected for students is often at their instructional level, which means that Ss need scaffolding and support as they attempt to read it.
✦One way teachers can minimize the frustration or boredom some students experience is by introducing them to new vocabulary and concepts before reading the text at all.
✦Ss relate concepts and appeal them to their previous knowledge.

✦By doing this first approach to the text, we want to only introduce the general ideas/topic of the text and strategies for reading (the Ss had not read it yet). Considering that the text is a bit complex and long, the usage of simple English, gestures, and exagerated diction will be suitable to aid Ss to establish a more kind relationship with the text as discussion is generated. We believe that in the next session, Ss will have already read the text so, another strategies and activities could be involved.
✦It is important to mention that we do not want to follow conventional individual patterns that reading is known for, but implement and teach reading as something that can be developed in groups and without being so steady and isolated.
✦Cajole ✓ - Lure ☓
