I must say that I felt totally comfortable with this group. I’m used to working with adolescents and I knew that this period would be the most rewarding . However, I had been warned about their behaviour, but in fact they did not misbehave but they constantly interrupted the activity and could not focus much. Anyway, I was prepared for the challenge and the situations I would find.

I took different games to start and finish the lesson and they resulted very well. They are accustomed to that and also, to get prizes for the winners!

A moment that was important for students was the closure, when I asked them to make a paper plane after writing something relevant about the lesson on the piece of paper. They were eager to make them fly and compete against their partners. Although the answers were repetitive I consider they will remember that fact for a long time.

I had said that this group of students are not very quiet! Well, they were a bit distracted over the first activity. I had to repeat the instructions some times and also the questions before and after the reading and I had to ask them to calm down many times. As a consequence we missed considerable time and I decided to skip one of the activities in order to deal with the most communicative. It worked very well and I could finish with a great activity (in my opinion) that was to deliver a passport for them to get out of the class when it was time for the break. Inside the passport there was a situation written on it and they had to provide a piece of advice to be able to leave the classroom.

This lesson started with a little problem with the sound of the video as it couldn’t be checked because I wasn’t able to get to the classroom some minutes earlier. However, it could be solved with the students’ help. I had decided to watch it without sound as it had the script on screen but they insisted in finding the solution.

I think this is a hardworking group when you insist and insist. They don’t like the idea of sitting properly and be ready for work ,but, when you finally manage a way to make them respond, they participate a lot and they use English in class, which is very favourable.

Although it’s a hard time, with many things to do and datelines that stress me I must say I enjoy this period of the subject more than the previous ones.

During this lesson students engaged a lot talking about their school trip organized for the following weekend. Some in English, some in Spanish. I had to insist in the use of English and finally we could finish the activities planned. They worked hard in their writing productions and they spent a funny time suggesting extreme things and exaggerating situations that might happen in their trip. I enjoyed this class a lot.

Something really useful was the organization of the groups. When I realized they were wasting time I stopped the activity and assigned roles to the members of the groups. One of them was in charge of checking and informing the time, another one was in charge of conducting the discussion, another one was the writer.

Especially the Rubik’s cube, which was the one they wanted to try. They could solve the activities very well and they were surprise when I told them this was the last class I would be with them. I gave them a kind of souvenir with some candies and all of them seemed to be pleased and happy. I loved this experience.

I was the last of three practitioners, so I went into the classroom thinking that the students would be kind of fed up of having strange people in their classroom, but they received me kindly. During these two classes I perceived a talkative group that although hardworking, had to be constantly brought back to the activities. Apart from that the teacher used English all the time, except when she gave them a reprimand for behaving that way, and they understood everything. They also tried to use L2 in class. They had good energy but they were very noisy. They worked in class but they could be able to work harder.

Let’s see what I’ll be able to do with them, but I feel I like this group!
