In the verse I believe Jesus is the truth. We must first know Jesus in order to know the truth to our lives. In Jesus we are set free. I found this to apply to the ethics and reason for accounting principles. In transparency there are no secrets. If an audit or an individual is called into question, the truth or the record of such practices sets the individual free. When we allow Jesus to do his redemptive work our lives also become transparent. He answers to our discrepancies and redeems our imperfect record.

Living based on things that are false puts people in bondage. I think this is why it's so important to have external sources of truth (like the bible) in our lives. I say "external" meaning "outside of us". I can't even drive a fence post perfectly plumb without a level, so how can I ever go through live knowing what is right and wrong on my own? The Bible gives direction and frees us from the bondage of lies. That's why I chose an open prison cell background. Truth set's people free.

This is a verse that I have heard though out my life and it holds a lot of truth, ironically.  Many people only show the happy times in their lives and do not like to show emotions or feelings. However, like this verse says, I think that being your true self is what will make you "free" and filled with happiness.

This verse inspires me because it illustrates 3 men of prestige who had everything to lose, including their lives, and were willing to lose it because it was not worth trampling over the God's character written in His law. I aspire to be firm and to have the integrity to stand strong when the world falls. I want to be an example even if it means losing it all...In the end, what will matter is not our position or how much treasure we had, but where we stored our treasures.

The world around it falling into violence and lies, and while it is a very cliche thing to say, these widespread problems have hit closer to home during 2020. Our own nation is falling apart in front of our eyes, and with out sources of information are biased and deceitful. I believe that a lot of people, including me, are looking for something that it lasting, that won't change based on what people think or say, something that is inarguably true. I believe this verse is especially needed at this time.
