In 2019, she and her husband took a trip to France to attend the wedding of her former exchange student, Christelle.
The day after the wedding, they set off from our hotel to the small village of Montcourt-Fromonville to attend a luncheon for close friends and family.
Shortly after arriving in the small village, they happened to pass Christelle’s family gathered in a small parking lot. They wondered if they should stop, but they didn’t look settled, and Google Maps was continuing to direct them.
They drove further, and eventually, Google Maps did the thing where it says she have arrived, but she look around and don’t know where she’ve arrived to.
She and her husband were very confused. Per the invite, the destination was called Chateau de la Mairie de Montcourt-Fromonville, but there was no address associated with it. When I typed it into Google, it came up as being a city hall.
Looking around the vicinity, they did see a castle-looking building in the distance, but it seemed way too fancy for a luncheon. Plus, would Christelle really be having her luncheon at a city hall?
They turned around and decided to go back to the parking lot where they had originally seen Christelle and her family. Of course, when they got there, no one was outside anymore. They approached a residential building nearby, thinking perhaps the luncheon was at someone’s personal residence there and snooped around a little bit.
Unfortunately, there were no signs of any gatherings in this quiet building. As they walked away, she heard a voice behind them say, “Bonjour.”
Turning around, she spotted a woman she had never seen in her life and wondered how she would explain she and her husband apparent snooping in French.
“Nous cherchons une fete.” (We are looking for a party)
The woman continued to stare at me.
“Pas ici?” (Not here?)
The woman shook her head “no” with a confused look on her face. Feeling her eyes upon, they immediately left before further damage could be done with her limited French.
Frustrated, they followed Google Maps back to the lovely castle-looking building. Now they saw more cars there, and they thought maybe that was the location after all.
Their suspicions were confirmed upon parking outside of the chateau “city hall” where they were relieved to finally find Christelle and her family.
They were very grateful this was such a small village. The journey was quite smooth at first, they went through a lot of wonderful countries. But one night, as their ship was sailing on calm water, suddenly it started to rain, and then a big wave was about to hit their ship. Harry found out about it, he hurriedly informed Jack about the incident. A big wave came, when both were confused, Jack got an idea. He immediately told Harry to steer the train to the right and speed up to avoid the direction of the wave. The ship finally got out of the big wave. 

It was a memorable event for both Jack and Harry. Both were eager to go home and tell everyone.
