 We know that Rainsford falls into the sea and tries to get back on and then he swims to the sore  and then he falls asleep for the rest of the day. 
After  he woke up some-one takes him to his castell and gives him food. 
(at this stage we can say that he is in a quit good possession.) 
The mood that I fell from the story is a little secretive- at start we didn’t really fell that we know exactly what he was doing, scary-because that he fell into the sea.
