How and why did your family come to the United states

My dads side of the family started all the way is the UAE and it was my grandpa who traveld here. He first came to the east coast and traveled by plane all the way to Irvine. He came here because he got robbed in the UAE and wanted a safer community. My moms side came by a boat from Germany. They came because my moms side of the family wanted to live here is San Diego.

what were the obsticales that they met

My dad first came to America and he wasn't aloud to come with a lot of stuff so he had to start brand new. When he came here they also spelled our last name wrong so legally my last name is Dauod now.

what was going on historically in the U.S during this time and did it affects your family

My grandpa was a really smart man and he waited till it was the right time and the safe time to travel to the US. There wasn't any problems with his travel in the safety part but there was a lot of people so they treated him like he wasn't human, changed his last name, etc.
